Currently #2 at Alternative Radio, with #1 squarely in its sights, Alice Merton's "No Roots" (Mom+Pop) is the highest-charting song by a female artist at the format since Bishop Briggs' "River," and Merton may be Alternative's highest-charting indie-label female artist ever.
The Canadian-born Berlin resident, who was signed by Mom+Pop's Thaddeus Rudd and Michael Goldstone last summer, is confirmed for four festival dates: Governor's Ball, Shaky Knees, Bottle Rock and Hangout Festival, plus a support slot on a major U.S. tour to be announced soon.
"No Roots" is having success at other formats as well: It's currently Top 20 at Hot AC and is already trending at #44 in front of the 2/13 Pop impact date. The song reached #1 in Germany, France and Italy, and has 120 million combined streams. Alice will be performing "No Roots" this week during the iHeart Pop Summit. Her follow-up single, still unannounced, will appear on her debut EP, due out in early April.
