LONDON'S AIR STUDIOS FOR SALE

Famed London recording space Air Studios has been put up for sale by owners Richard Boote and Paul Woolf. The company was founded by Sir George Martin in 1969 and its London base, which opened in '92, has been used by the likes of Adele, Coldplay, Mark Ronson, Paul McCartney and George Michael.

Boote bought the studios in 2006, and is looking for a buyer after winning a dispute with a neighbour who wanted to build a lavish basement development that would have disrupted recordings, according to the FT. He's passing the baton on due to "age" (he's in his 70s) and hopes to find a buyer who'll grow the business further.

The sale includes £3m worth of recording gear and the company is profitable, with revenue up to nearly £3m last year and profit before tax at £371k. Most of AIR’s business now comes from symphonic work for movies like Dunkirk, Interstellar and Phantom Thread.

Air is located in a converted church in leafy Hampstead, North London. You can direct your bids to London Bridge Capital.
