ELTON BOOKS TO #1

Me, Elton John's splashy, dishy autobiography, is #1 on the New York Times bestseller list.

The Holt-published tome, which comes on the heels of the Elton biopic, Rocketman, has topped the paper of record's hardcover non-fiction list, ahead of Ronan Farrow's feverishly touted tell-all and a spate of political scribblings from cable personages on both the left and the right. This marks its second week on the list.

We await the Elton Netflix series, theme restaurants and line of consumer-facing, rhinestone-studded eyewear.

This development has truly inspired the HITS editorial staff, who plan to begin limning their own memoirs if they can find a fresh crayon.
