STIKLORIUS SPEAKS OUT IN SUPPORT OF DUGAN CHARGES

Manager and Recording Academy Task Force member Ty Stiklorius has emerged as one of the first high-profile women in the industry to back up Deborah Dugan's bombshell complaint against the Grammy org.

In a 1/23 New York Times article by Ben Sisario and Joe Coscarelli, she's quoted as saying that not long after joining the Tina Tchen-led task force she "began to question the sincerity of the effort when some of the same male leadership whose names have come up in the Deborah Dugan story inexplicably attended our meetings." It became evident, she said, "that we would not be allowed to do our work going forward without them present.” What's more, she says she realized “real change wasn’t wanted or desired, only the positive optics of our group’s involvement.”

She made an even stronger statement on Twitter, declaring, "I won’t stay quiet on this. As an Academy Inclusivity Task Force member I saw the inner workings & lack of transparency. The board voted down our recommendation of Ranked Choice Voting. They have not implemented our recommendations but used us as a pawn."

Who will be next to corroborate the charges made by Dugan? Stay tuned.
