VINYL DOC TO BENEFIT INDIE STORES

A new documentary celebrating the world of records, Vinyl Nation, will be streamed online this weekend to benefit indie record stores across the U.S.

Kevin Smokler and Christopher Boone's exploration of the resurgence of vinyl records was scheduled to be shown Saturday as part of Record Store Day festivities. Instead, the film will make its world premiere digitally beginning at midnight ET on 4/18. It can be screened until 11:59pm PT on 4/19. (Record Store Day has been moved to 6/20).

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here. Tickets are emailed with the screening URL and password.

The trailer below showcases, among others, Amoeba co-owner Marc Weinstein lamenting the days when people not only sold their albums but their turntables as well.
