TAKE ACTION, SUPPORT INDIE VENUES

Ninety percent of independent venues report they will have to close within months without federal funding. With live events providing 75% of all artists' income, the loss of live events and music venues will affect each and every person in the music industry.

TAKE ACTION: Head to SaveOurStages.com and sign a letter today letting your representatives know you support the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), the Save Our Stages Act and the RESTART Act. The hope is for Congress to have a resolution by the end of this week, before recess.

More info on the legislation:

The RESTART Act (S. 3824)

  • Finances payroll, benefits, and fixed operating costs
  • Expands eligibility, giving access to small businesses with part-time employees
  • Up to 90% loan forgiveness for certain businesses
  • Includes a generous 7-year payback schedule

Save Our Stages Act (S. 4258)

  • $10 billion grant program for live venue operators, promoters, and others
  • Supplemental grants available to certain businesses at the end of the year

The ENCORES Act (H.R. 7735)

  • Provides tax credit for refunded tickets to certain businesses that promote, produce, or manage live concerts, comedy, sporting events, and live theatrical productions.
