R.I.P., KIMBERLY LEE KENNEDY

We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Kimberly Lee Kennedy, an audio engineer and tour manager who spent more than 30 years in the music business.

Kennedy died 8/7 at her home in Los Angeles, surrounded by her family and close friends. She was 52.

Most recently a Tour Manager at Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group, Kennedy had managed Trent Reznor’s Nothing Studios in New Orleans before moving to L.A. and working at the Record Plant. She worked with, among others, Shinedown, The Neptunes, P. Diddy and Rage Against The Machine.

“I will be forever grateful for what she taught me, and the time I got to spend with her,”said -Brent Smith of Shinedown. “She was massively respected in the touring industry, and the music business. To this day, I still have conversations with some of the biggest promoters in the world, that continue to keep her spirit alive with one unique phrase, ‘If you wanna do it the right way, do it the Kim Kennedy way.’”

The family has requested that donations be made to MusiCares in her name.
