KNIGHT, CARA JOIN NBA ALL-STAR LINEUP

Gladys Knight and Alessia Cara will sing the national anthems of the U.S. and Canada 3/7 at the 70th NBA All-Star Game, to be televised on TNT.

Knight will be at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, the site of the game; Cara will sing the Canadian national anthem from Toronto.

The league will pay tribute to the role of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, including a performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by the Clark Atlanta University Philharmonic Society Choir in honor of NAACP leader and "Black national anthem" songwriter James Weldon Johnson, who was a Clark Atlanta alumnus.

Knight graduated from Shaw University, one of the oldest HBCUs in the nation.
