As the U.S. begins, at last, to come out of the pandemic, it’s clear that Los Angeles is the epicenter of creatives in the biz. And even though writers and producers around the globe have been collaborating virtually during lockdown, the West Coast remains the hub of content creation.
Maybe it’s the warm weather, combined with the proximity of film/TV and big tech companies and the ready availability of world-class weed. In any case, where in-person writing and record-making are concerned, L.A.’s the place.
How are the boardrooms of the majors assessing this reality, which will once again be highlighted as venues and studios light up? Will the post-pandemic world become even more L.A.-centric? Could some readjustments be on the horizon? And will Madeo open again? Stay tuned.
