HOCKNEY PAINTS CLIVE

This portrait of storied music exec Clive Davis, committed to canvas by celebrated British artist David Hockney, is part of "Portrait of a Nation: 2022 Honorees," an exhibition of seven such works hanging in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, opening on 11/10. The other subjects are José Andrés, Ava DuVernay, Marian Wright Edelman, Anthony S. Fauci, M.D., Serena Williams and Venus Williams.

The rendering of Clive is the first Hockney painting to enter the Portrait Gallery’s collection.

"Portrait of a Nation" will be on view on the museum’s first floor through 10/22/23.
