DON'T TOUCH THAT PRECIOUS GUITAR, OR IT'S NOT HEARSAY—IT'S IRSAY

The Jim Irsay Collection is rolling into L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium on 1/11 for a music memorabilia exhibition and all-star concert. The special event is free and open to the public, which means the HITS bindlestiffs will finally be able to afford something nice for a change.

On display will be Indianapolis Colts Owner/CEO Jim Irsay’s private music-memorabilia collection, which includes instruments and items owned and used by Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Elton John, Johnny Cash, Jerry Garcia, Les Paul, David Gilmour, Miles Davis, Jim Morrison, Eddie Van Halen, Pete Townshend, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain, among others. In addition, there will be a live performance from The Jim Irsay Band, an all-star outfit comprised of drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, Smashing Pumpkins), bassist Mike Mills (R.E.M.), guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd, keyboardist Michael Ramos (John Mellencamp, Paul Simon) and violinist Carmella Ramsey (Reba McEntire, John& Hiatt)—along with surprise special guests to be announced. We're told Jim Irsay may even turn up.

“I started this collection and tour to bring people from all walks of life together to celebrate our shared history and culture and spread positive messages of unity and inspiration throughout this country and world,” said Irsay, who added that if you touch that priceless Stratocaster you'll get such a swat, seriously.

The Jim Irsay Collection also features an array of historical artifacts, including an 1823 printing of the Declaration of Independence, an original “Wanted” poster for John Wilkes Booth, Jackie Robinson’s baseball bat, Muhammad Ali’s title belt from his “Rumble in the Jungle” bout and Jack Kerouac’s original typewritten manuscript for On The Road, among other items.

Advance registration is required, so head here to reserve your spot. You can donate to Irsay’s non-profit organization Kicking the Stigma, which raises awareness for mental health while you're scoring those freebie tix.
