KACEY DIGS DEEP FOR SNL RETURN

Singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves took the Saturday Night Live stage 3/2, performing "Deeper Well" and "Too Good To Be True" from her forthcoming album, Deeper Well (Interscope/MCA Nashville).

Backed by a seven-piece band, Musgraves kicked off her shoes for the title track and effortlessly soared through the stripped-down number with lyrics like, "I used to wake and bake/ Roll out of bed, hit the gravity bong that I made/ And start the day/ For a while, it got me by/ Everything I did seemed better when I was high/ I don't know why."

Musgraves then returned, this time with her acoustic guitar, for "Too Good To Be True," another down-tempo sample of the album. The track interpolates singer-songwriter Anna Nalick’s 2005 hit, “Breathe (2AM),” giving it a subtle air of familiarity.

Musgraves' latest SNL appearance marked her third time on the show and first since 2021. Deeper Well, co-produced with frequent collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, is scheduled for a 3/15 release.
