AIMP TO HOLD TOWN HALL WEBINAR
4/17/20

The AIMP will hold another in their series of weekly webinar panels on Thursday 4/23 at 5:30pm ET/2:30pm PT.

The Independent Music Publishers' Town Hall - Coping With The New Normal will feature panelists Big Deal Music Group President Kenny MacPherson, Co-Founder & Executive Director SONA & ASCAP Board Member Michelle Lewis, Sony Pictures SVP Television Music Tony Scudellari and moderator Emmanuel Legrand, an independent journalist. The panel will be free for members and $5 for non-members, register/join here, Zoom meeting details coming soon.

The webinar held on 4/16 featured Peloton Head of Music Paul DeGooyer in conversation with AIMP President NYC Alisa Coleman. The two discussed the use of music in the fitness brand's live and recorded classes, the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on the exercise industry, and a new opt-in for independent music publishers to license their music directly to the company. DeGooyer described how the company experience focuses on the right song for the right moment, spoke of their 2m engaged users, and explained that many new Peloton users staying at home have signed up via the digital app, which does not require ownership of a bike or treadmill to participate in classes such as boot camp, yoga and meditation.
