IBEYI HEADS DOWNTOWN
12/7/21

Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz, aka Ibeyi, have inked a global pub admin deal—including their back catalogue and future works—with Downtown Music Services.

The daughters of the late, Grammy-winning Cuban percussionist Anga Díaz, Ibeyi blends Yoruban music with modern jazz, pop, soul and hip-hop.

Signed to XL Recordings—they dropped their eponymously titled debut in 2015 followed by 2017’s Ash—which was produced by XL’s founder Richard Russell, earned an IMPALA European Album of the Year nom and praise from Michelle Obama, Kamasi Washington and more.

I have been following Ibeyi’s journey very closely, they are part of these few artists from France who take it to another level and put themselves on the international map,” said Downtown Music Services’ Senior A&R Manager, Laura Bedikian.

This fractured world has never needed to hear their blend of spirituality and righteousness more,” added Global President of Downtown Music Services Mike Smith.

The twins have also previously appeared in the short film for Beyoncé's Lemonade while their music and compositions have been featured in films like ROMA and How to Stop a Recurring Dream, as well as in campaigns for Chanel, Nike and Louis Vuitton.

Most recently, they dropped their latest single ‘Made of Gold’ f/Pa Salieu and are set to release their next album—also helmed by Russell—sometime next year.
