Warner Chappell Music has inked singer/songwriter Evan Bartels to a global publishing deal.

Hailing from the small town of Tobias, Nebr., Bartels dropped his debut album, The Devil, God & Me, in 2017, followed by his 2019 EP, Promise Land, which debuted at #9 on iTunes’ Singer Songwriter chart and earned four syncs on Netflix’s The Ranch, as well as multiple placements on comedian Theo Von’s podcast, This Past Weekend.

His latest offering, Lonesome, was produced by Grammy winner Ryan Hewitt (The Avett Brothers, Noah Kahan,The Lumineers) and launched his viral single, “Shotgun.”

“[Evan] weaves together brilliant narratives through his songs that especially speak to us as a music publisher, and we're very excited to be working with such a talented creative,” said Rich Robinson, EVP, Global Synchronization and Media Original Music, WCM.

“I’m honored to see my name and work added to a roster of the best songwriters in the world. Rich Robinson and the entire sync team are some of the most creative and visionary people I’ve met and being able to work in tandem with BJ Hill in Nashville, is one of the greatest opportunities a songwriter could hope for,” added Bartels.

With his U.K. tour set to kick off in March, Bartels recently celebrated the new partnership with an ASCAP Music Cafe showcase at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and a sold-out show at L.A.’s Hotel Cafe during Grammy week.
