DA BEST (COAST)
9/28/15

Do you ever get that semi-manic, endorphin-induced high after an excruciating workout? Much like a great training session, Harvest's Best Coast had a crowd of 4,800 feeling pumped as they schvitzed profusely while moving to their soulful sounds.

Front(superwo)man, Bethany Cosentino, pulled the crowd in for what felt like an intimate set at the CalCoast Credit Union Open Air Theatre (which I prefer to call the San Diego Bowl, for simplicity’s sake). I particularly enjoyed her simultaneously angsty and mellow pop lyrics about giving away her money for weed; they really seemed to really resonate with the stoned, flip-flop-clad audience.

If you find yourself running low on anti-anxiety meds, take a listen to their single, “Feeling Ok” (above), off California Nights—released earlier this year—for an immediate mood lifter.

For the full effect, be sure to catch them on their upcoming U.S. dates or across the pond this winter, as they make our European friends jealous of those warm So Cal nights.

L'chaim,
Naomi Robin
