WHAT IT IS: Liverpool native Mike Nelson (aka Banners) is fascinated by dreams, life, death, hope and despair. He grew up singing in the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral Choir, singing in cathedrals and concert halls across Europe. Influenced by artists ranging from Jeff Buckley to Arcade Fire, Mike’s music is at once haunting, hopeful and resonant. Earlier this year, Banners released “Ghosts” and “Shine a Light,” both of which charted Top 5 on HypeMachine.
