EMPIRE got a special visit from California State Assemblyman Matt Haney to present CEO/founder Ghazi and African artists Fireboy DML, Asake and Olamide a formal Certificate of Recognition from the State of California for their contributions to worldwide music.
Haney applauded Fireboy DML for his platinum-selling single "Peru" f/ Ed Sheeran, which was recorded at EMPIRE's studio in San Francisco. The song has racked up more than 500m streams, was nominated for a BET Award, Soul Train Award and NAACP Award, among others. We, on the other hand, continue to be recognized for our mediocrity.
